Stacy, the daughter of Herbert London, president emeritus of the Hudson Institute, and his ex-wife Joy, is of Sicilian ancestry from her mother’s side, and Jewish from her father’s. After she matriculated, Stacy enrolled at Vassar College from which she graduated with a double major in 20th-century philosophy and German literature. During her Vassar College years, Stacy was a part of Phi Beta Kappa, and what’s more important, one summer, she was an intern in Christian Dior’s PR department, which inspired her to take an interest in the fashion industry.
Career Beginnings
Following her graduation from Vassar, Stacy started pursuing a career in fashion, and quickly assumed the position of an assistant at Vogue magazine. After a while gaining experience, she was appointed as the senior fashion editor at Mademoiselle. Subsequently, she started working with other notable publications, such as Italian D, Contents, and Nylon, among others, but it was her collaboration with such stars as Liv Tyler and Kate Winslet that helped her breakthrough.
Rise to Prominence
Stacy’s skills steadily improved, and she was contacted by Rebecca Taylor, Vivienne Tam and others to work on their fashion shows.
